GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

Tosoh Quartz is a world Leader in Manufacturing Quartzware for Semiconductor Industry

Seeking Engineer for a Lead position in Product Development; Work on projects and systems to improve yield and efficiency.

Develop and design a product/product family.  Ensures production procedures/processes efficiently utilize materials and personnel.  Tests finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as necessary. Interface with internal and external customers to determine and to apply technical solutions.  Acts as technical expert for internal and external customers.

Monitors manufacturing operations including analyzing short and long term process trends. Responsible for championing RCCA and making process change recommendations. Responsible for identifying and executing projects to reduce product cost, improve product quality, and improve yield.

Maintains and updates key metrics for continuous improvement and production efficiency.

Leads continuous improvement activities by proposing performance improvements or cost reduction changes. Develop, qualify, implement, and control production processes.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize SPC to drive process improvements and increase yield.
  • Perform RCCA utilizing FMEA, Fishbone or other methods.
  • Review blueprints to determine manufacturability.  Review blueprints, plans and other customer documentation to develop and prepare cost effective manufacturing process.
  • Provide technical services to customers regarding manufacturability of proposed new designs.
  • Solicit technical advice as required from resources within the company to assist in determining a manufacturable process.
  • Design and perform engineering studies, test and experiments for products/processes.
  • Assist in the document control flow of the ACR/EWO procedures.
  • Lead development and production teams from a technical and cost basis.
  • Research, design and build equipment for manufacturing related processes.  Apply mechanical theory, mechanical testing procedures and related knowledge to layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production equipment.
  • Maintain awareness and control of project cost, quality, scope, and schedule to ensure on-time delivery of the project within budget.  Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluate cost factors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:

  • Ability to apply SPC to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Ability to apply robust RCCA techniques to solve manufacturing problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization in partnership with more senior engineering staff.
  • Ability to use Solidworks, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires a B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent.  2-4 years of experience in engineering or technician experience in similar capacity.  Good understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field.  General knowledge of other related disciplines. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) for analysis of process capabilities during the quoting process.
