Direct and coordinate activities of production department in processing materials or manufacturing products, applying knowledge of general production methods, processes, machines and equipment.

Utilize staff technical experts to assist in troubleshooting and process improvement activities.

Emphasis on coordinating team performance to meet production goals, supporting company policies, and effective personnel supervision including coaching, disciplinary and corrective action follow-through in support of company policies.


Minimum 7 years similar supervisory experience within a manufacturing facility.  


  • Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to help plan department operations and adhere to machine allocations.
  • Help plan production operations by recommending priorities and sequences for manufacturing products, utilizing knowledge of general production processes and methods, machine and equipment capabilities and staffing requirements, and leveraging staff technical experts as needed.
  • Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications and customer needs.
  • Act as liaison between production and management personnel.
  • Ensure employees adhere to general and personnel policies and enforce any disciplinary actions (counseling, corrective action follow through).
  • Consistently model preferred behaviors: following company processes, procedures and policies including attendance.
  • Update production planning regularly regarding production i.e. status of jobs in the department. Advise production planning of lates, scraps, reworks, logistics or other adjustments to schedule.
  • Time and Attendance maintenance (scheduling, on time, breaks, and lunch). Initial approver of vacations and leaves.
  • Keep all production documentation current and accurate.

  • Monitor and ensure all operator daily planned maintenance is completed on production equipment.
  • Conduct direct reports performance evaluations thoroughly and on time.
  • Assist Leads as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Coordinate and exercise functional authority for planning, organizing, integrating and controlling activities in assigned areas, including Safety.
  • Strong experience supervising personnel and general processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, blue prints, detailed sketches, technical manuals, and an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or other form.
  • Identify and list production data such as quantities, pressures, alloys and operating conditions.
  • Inspect, examine and observe for obvious product or equipment defects.
  • Strong communications and computer skills.
  • Work well under time pressure.
  • Understand materials movement processes, material tracking and inventory control procedures.
  • Track productivity and machine PM completion.
  • Annual performance reviews.
