GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

Manufacture quartz components utilizing mill or lathe computer numerical control (CNC) machines.  Produce and inspect machining operations and finished products against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools.

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:

  • Accurately follow work instructions and demonstrate knowledge of necessary safety protocols.
  • Excellent visual acuity; ability to see small details and finish variations and defects.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Level I Machinists will be trained on:
    • Standard G and M codes for Numerically Controlled machines.
    • Machine Mathematics including: Trigonometry, metric length conversion, volumetric removal rate calculations, and tool surface speed calculations.
    • Blue print reading, the use of precision measurement equipment and industrial trucks.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years similar machining/manufacturing experience with familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment recommended.
  • Must be flexible regarding shift availability.
